Noughts and crosses as we know it today was first inaugurated in print in an 1858 edition of the scholarly journal Notes and Queries, but its origins date all the way back to Ancient Greece. It's believed the Greeks played a variation of tic-tac-toe on roofing tiles, but we suggest Bamford Watch Department's convenient set instead. Housed in a holder that doubles up as a playing board, it's made from black acrylic and silver-tone aluminium, so it'll make a sleek addition to your home décor, too.
